Review by hotel critic
Nestled in a 14th-century castle, Van Der Valk Hotel Kasteel TerWorm is a true gem for a relaxing getaway. The restored building oozes charm, with squeaky floorboards adding to its historical allure. The cellar bar, a labyrinth of delights, invites you to explore its unique ambiance. Our fragrance-free room was a welcome respite, catering to even those with sensitivities, although a crackling real wood fire would have been the cherry on top. The location was superb, and room 25 was lovely, exuding a sense of tranquility. The only thing missing was perhaps a more traditional European gothic dining experience, but the menu, while not what we expected, was of excellent quality. All in all, a unique and charming stay, though I wish we could have lingered a bit longer in this enchanting abode.
